Your Portrait

Very few people have been lucky enough to be immortalised as a hologram. Now you can be one of the first in the world to have a three dimensional hologram portrait recorded of yourself, your family or your friends.

Where should I go?

In order to have your holographic portrait recorded you will need to travel to Spatial Imaging Ltd. in Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, England. The studio is very close to Central London and London's Heathrow Airport and can be reached easily using the London underground train. If you book to have your portrait recorded we will send you full details of how to reach us. We can also help you book a convenient hotel.

How long will it take?

The recording of a holographic portrait is very similar to having your photograph taken. You will be asked to sit in Spatial Imaging's special portrait studio whilst a holographic exposure is made. The recording of a master hologram takes only a fraction of a second, much like a flash photograph. You can then relax in our gallery whilst the master hologram is developed. This will take a further 30 minutes, after which, you can see the amazing results. The whole process may take up to one hour.

Once the master hologram has been recorded your 'real' face will no longer be required. We will now have a perfect three-dimensional replica of your face locked forever in a piece of glass. The next stage of the process is to make a hologram print from the master hologram. This is produced in another laser studio and will take a further three days. The final hologram print, viewable using a normal spot light, will be sent to you by the most convenient means. The master hologram will be archived safely by Spatial Imaging and further hologram prints can be ordered at any time.

Installation

The installation and lighting of your hologram is very simple. A hologram is displayed by hanging it on a wall, much as you would a photograph or painting. A spot light is then positioned in front and above the hologram on the ceiling and is directed to shine light on the hologram. The full three dimensional hologram image will then leap into life. We will discuss the installation and lighting with you when you visit our studio and show you many examples in our hologram gallery. We will also send you full installation instructions with the hologram and will be available by phone, fax or e-mail to answer any questions you may have. An installation service is also available for clients living in the London area.
